Sisters and brothers:
There are many things going on here at St. Jerome these days and we have lots of announcements in this week’s Around the Parish. For instance, we have our Tie-Dyed Workshop on July 23rd, a Parish Potluck on the 30th, our Tie-Dyed Sunday (Worship) on August 13th and a Hamburger/Hotdog Karaoke on August 18th.
We also have some exciting news about our doors. The doors are slated to be installed NEXT WEEK! I have seen the door frame that has been constructed which now includes the sidelights, doors and transom as one solid unit and I can assure you it is handsome! This will be something we will be proud of.
After quite a bit of discussion and considering the input we gathered and the mini on-line voting, the Vestry determined that we will be ordering the new awning clad in the Mahogany-colored fabric. We are confident that this will match the brick and mortar well.
On Monday, the Vestry had the honor of receiving the new lights. The rewiring of the lights has been completed, and they are now ready for installation. I have begun inserting the cream/gold glass into the frames. As you know, Paul has been working hard on getting our walls back in shape, and our goal is to paint the ceiling while we have scaffolding and are installing the lights.
Lastly, I want to urge folks to plan to hear a short presentation this Sunday. I’ll be introducing a new initiative in my sermon that is part of an effort that Gary Cornet has undertaken to capture an overview of all the various ways our folks are involved in the larger community and to celebrate the ministry we do on an on-going basis. I hope you will consider participating!
