Sisters and brothers:
We continue with our special events in May THIS Sunday as we welcome the Rev. Leslie Dotson as our guest preacher. I look forward to hearing Leslie. She is a wonderful and supportive friend to our community. I specifically asked Leslie to join us because I wanted for us to have more opportunities to hear women preaching. So I hope you will take advantage and join us. Let’s show some gracious St. Jerome hospitality to Leslie!
As you may know, Br. Ray and I returned last Thursday evening from our travels by RV to Reading, Pennsylvania to pick up the church lights that we had previously purchased. I am happy to report that, although we had some rough travels home, all of the lamps made it safely and are now in the process of being rewired and prepared for hanging. We’ll soon have these new (antique) lights serving our needs as we worship God in our sacred space.
We also announced a couple of weeks ago that we received approval to remodel our King Street entrance doors. A rendering of what we envision is available in the Fellowship Hall. The doors have been ordered and should be arriving soon. Both of these wonderful additions would not be possible without generous donations to our Memorial Fund. So please keep that in mind as you remember loved ones.
Finally, I want to remind everyone that we have need for some volunteers to staff the Mayfest beer and snacks booth on May 18-21st as well as the St. Jerome Pride booth on June 3rd. If you are willing to help us out, we’d greatly appreciate it. Sign-up sheets are available in the Fellowship Hall.
