Sisters and Brothers
We should all be proud of our Choir. They did an excellent job of representing us at the Interfaith Pride Service on Tuesday evening. Thank you, Choir, for your participation!
Speaking of Pride, this Saturday is Tulsa’s Pride Celebration at the Oklahoma Equality Center. Because of the construction projects downtown I understand parking will be a bit more challenging. Consider carpooling! As usual, we’ll have a booth, and invite folks to help staff it, or at least drop by and say “hi.”
This Sunday we’ll be celebrating the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. It isn’t a celebration we normally observe, but it seemed fitting this year. Perhaps it is good for us to consider what we believe about the Holy Eucharist from time to time. So I invite you to join us so that we may commune together as one – a tangible example of the living Body of Christ.
As you may know, I’ve been inviting all those who are new to our parish to complete the Pink information form so that I can get a better handle on the spiritual and educational needs we might have. it is very clear, that we need more teachers for our youngsters. Last Sunday we had 7 children, and are expecting even more than that.
We’ll be offering Sunday School during worship this Sunday and will begin working on introducing the children to the concept of Baptism. We are hoping to offer First Communion for several of our kiddos this Fall. In order to meet this goal, we may need to consider adding Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. If you are willing to help–either during worship or before worship–please let me know right away. This is an important ministry for our parish.
Lastly, please consider helping us sell our June Raffle Tickets. Drawings begin TOMORROW! We may have sold enough to break even, but need to sell more if we intend to make money on this endeavor. Share the flyer, ask your friends or family – you might be surprised at how easy it is. Please contact the church office if you need tickets!
